Family Enrichment
Taking the biblical structure of marriage, it is our desire to help strengthen the bond of marriage and secure the future of our youth by establishing them in Christ. Despite what some may think, divorce isn’t just about the adults. The youth are tremendously affected by what could be a traumatic event for them. Since the 1960’s, there has been a break down in the family structure and a decrease in marriage, particularly in the black families. During the 1960’s, three quarters of African Americans were born in marriage families. Today, only one-fourth of black children are born into a family of married couples. With divorce on the rise and the number of abortions in the black community, we are literally killing off our race. In addition to that, we have the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) movement on the rise, trying to denigrate the Word of God or trying to undermine the Word of God, as it regards marriage, by promoting and engaging in same sex marriage. However, in Genesis 1:26-28, 2:24-25 God has already set an unalterable standard; we must endeavor to follow it. The Church and Society need to understand that having marriage and family, from a biblical structure, has a purpose. It provides a sense of togetherness, fellowship and a sense of unity. A solid structured family gives us a sense of identity, belonging and meaningfulness. Our identity is already defined in Christ.
